After 6 days of on an off yacking, we are now back at 100% corgi. We probably over zealously fed him too much too soon once he perked up. Now that the second episode of yacking is over, Pudge is still on his broth, rice and boiled chicken diet. Tomorrow we re-evaluate his tolerance for kibble.

I must tell you about the national shortage of corgi hand puppets. It’s true and very very sad. Folkmanis the maker of the above corgi hand puppet has “retired” this model in favor of a more popular Portuguese Waterdog. Obviously, they do not realize that the corgi nation is already being represented at at least the state wide level with Sutter, First Corgi of California. And even Alton Brown has a Cardigan corgi! CORGIS ARE LOVED BY ALL! We need the puppet back!
So, I had an idea. We should start an email campaign to Folkmanis asking them to bring back the corgi puppet. Or to make a Cardigan version or a tricolor!
This hand puppet is a favorite of many corgi lovers and one was given to me as a present and temporary corgi until I got Pudge. Now Pudge has corgi and has yet to destroy corgi. Otis and the Frogman are also huge fans of this puppet.
Oh won’t you please pledge your allegiance to the corgi and write to Folkmanis requesting them to make a corgi come back? It takes less than 2 minutes. All of your suggestions can be corgis.

So after getting neutered over two weeks ago Recon hasn’t been the same and seems to have been progressively worse. Two days ago he stops eating and starts vomiting so I take him to the vet yesterday and they check him out. They say that it’s not too uncommon considering his age (3yrs) and the fact they had to go in and cut them out since they never dropped.
Last night we get home and his back legs are shaking a lot and just will not eat anything. I gave him his pain killer and that knocks him out when I go to bed at 2AM he can barely walk his rear legs seem to be asleep so I pick him up and put him in bed. When we got up at 8AM he just flat out couldn’t walk at all. So I rushed him to the vet and they did some blood work.
Apparently Recon has Addison’s Disease and was in the middle of what’s called an Addisonion Crisis where his body had basically started to shut down. Thanks to the Vet it looks like he’ll pull out of it but will remain on medication for the rest of his life. As of around 4:30PM he was showing marked improvement.Just got a call at 10PM and the doc says he’s improved a little but is having issues getting is blood sugar under control and now has him in insulin. The doctor is thinking he may also be diabetic on top of having Addisons Disease.So yeah a pretty shit day so far.

Pudge at Petco. He goes into the cart because he pulls me while I’m trying to look at stuff. It’s much easier this way. Though he barely fits in there with my purse. I cannot imagine how you guys fit TWO corgis into one cart.
I was mashing up some sweet potatoes for sweet potato pie. Pudge likes to sit on the edge of the kitchen and supervise (and vacuum when I drop something). Today was his lucky day. The luckiest day of any corgi’s life — he got to lick the bowl (it was just mashed sweet potatoes). He did an excellent job.

He is also sporting a new tie that his friend bought him in London! Now that he’s trimmed you can actually see his tie collar again!

As you can see, Pudge has really loved Corgi. The eyes have toothmarks and not glossy anymore, the tongue is chewed out, the ears are chewed up, the fur is all matted from being washed… but Corgi has yet to be eviscerated. And Corgi is not even a dog toy. No, Corgi is a hand puppet that his corgdaddy got for me from the Mountain View Public Library friend’s of the library store (and you can buy the same one online here).
