To nub, or not to nub: that is the question:Whether ‘tis stumpier in the mind to sufferThe furminator and piles of outrageous phloof,Or to take paws against a sea of derp,And by opposing end them?

Nubbin - (noun)
That little thing sticking off of your corgis butt.  What is it?  A nubbin.
Nubbins turn out to be a big controversy in corgi world.  The nubbin is the little lump or residual part of a tail that has been docked, as seen in the Pembroke on the right in the above photo.  His sibling on the left has not been docked.  Most in the USA are docked.  Despite this, some stubborn corgis are even born with the nubbin gene and have no tail at birth.
Why dock a tail?  Some say to prevent injuries in working dogs.  Others say its just for looks.  The AKC says a tail of up to two inches is allowed.  I think farmers just thought it would be funny to make a stumpy dog even stumpier.  But lets not get into an argument on docking.
Recent studies at the esteemed Corgi Research Association of Pembroke (C.R.A.P) suggest there is no link between your corgi’s derp/frap/phloof level and whether or not it has a nubbin.  So whether or not your letting your tail flag fly or rubbin’ a nubbin’, enjoy your corgi and corgi on.
No one can deny that this is one major benefit of nubbification.
PS: If you have a tailed Pembroke, or any other exotic corgi model, feel free to submit it to CorgiAddict.

My 3 month old Corgi Camila got an apple right out of my purse and started to eat it.

sneaky corgi is not that sneaky.

bananas, cabbage, apples, watermelon — who knew corgis were such omnivores? i wonder if this is the corgi way of showing vitamin deficiencies in their diet — sort of like pica in humans

but knowing corgis, it’s probably because they have a black hole in place of their stomaches.
