You know… it really is amazing how malleable dog genetics are.
How totally different are they?  I love that Mercedes’ pastern is as long as Tempe’s whole leg. Look at the ears, the faces, the tails, the shoulder, the chest. They are very, very different animals. If you were from off planet and you saw them, would you even think they were both dogs? I’m not sure. If one or the other of them was another color, that would make it even worse.
What’s even more amazing? Tempe can run and keep right up with her, even pass her. Corgis are so, so efficient at what they were bred to do.
PS: Tempe would like to proudly point out she doesn’t need a leash, either, thank you very much. I would like to point out that we are safely in a zone in Seattle where there are no cars - but that when she was 6 months old, she didn’t get to come off the leash either. ;) Mercedes will get there! Yay for safety belts!

Beautiful beasts!

Tempe totally would like Mercy’s treats. ;) “Ummmm, down here? That’s not fair, she has taller legs. Um, hey! Cookie? Hellloooooo?”
