Simon sez, I love jumping beach logs!
I laugh. Whenever we go places, he takes off and and finds things to leap over… it’s like, “I’m a bird, I’m a plane, I’m… SuperCardi!”
It’s amazing to me how much air and height he gets under those stubby little legs.
Monte, approaching full derp.
The weather is finally nice, so he got the three tennis ball treatment.
“What’s that?” You say, wondering what I could possibly make Monte do with three tennis balls that he won’t do with one.
Well for one, he doesn’t drop a tennis ball, for hardly anything. And that includes stinky (salmon) treats. It makes it hard to keep him running around the yard because if I chase him to get the ball he likes it, then when he wants a break he hides in the bushes.
If I have three tennis balls, well, then we activate Monte’s weakness.
No matter what, he will chase the ball.
If he has one, and wants to do a “flyby” (when I tell him to bring the ball to me and he cruises past, just out of reach) all I do is throw another ball to the opposite part of the yard and he sprints after it.
He can carry more than one toy in his mouth, and does, but more than one tennis ball is hard. So I just do this and collect the other two, keeping him running around the yard.
And there you go. The result: full derp.
An awesome and cunning trick to keeping a corgi who loves chasing balls forever busy!

Caleb, Riley (the Pembroke), Temperance, and Simon.
Well, at least they’re enjoying the snow days lately.
SIMOOOOOOON!!!!!
What an awesome picture of the crew!

This. We need a fluffy blue merle heterochromic corgi to be a sister for Pudge. NEED. LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL!
Monte has absolutely terrorized the blanket we use to cover his crate. He usually grabs what part he can reach through the spaces in the cage and pulls it in as far as he can so he can destuff the it. In some places he has chewed all the way through.
Then he was wandering around and got stuck in a hole he made. He then proceeded to act like it was no big deal while we could absolutely tell he was panicking.
Ext. Monte: “I’m cool, I got this. I do this all the time.”
Int. Monte: “Crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrap…”
This photo perfectly epitomises their corgi personalities:
Bentley - Please, let me please you! I’m oh so obedient!
Biscuit - Pfft… No noms, no poses.
We stayed in Canada for a while and took Kipling with us too! I cannot believe how great Kipling got with my parents while living in Canada. Kip followed my dad outside and kept him company every time he smoked his cigarettes. No one in our family ever does that…in fact, we always complain that he comes in too soon and brings all the smoke inside the house. As for my mom, she wouldn’t even go near Kip or let him snuggle next to her at first. But at the end, they were spotted doing gardening work together. And she almost hit me for making Kip wait a full minute to get his meal.
Kipling became even more social towards people, fatter (parents love to feed), and maybe just a bit more spoiled from this trip.
Austrian airline is pretty okay for pet transportation. I was impressed that a flight crew member actually recognized Kipling in the arrival area and told us where we could find a patch of grass around the airport. :)
Nope. I refuse to do whatever it is that you would like me to do.
Corgis. They corg at such a young age.

Hey Simon! You are wearing the same safety glasses I rock nearly everyday! Corgi’s got style! And… safety first!
Anonymous asked:
What are the different types of colors of corgis? I can’t find the names of the colors anywhere!! Thanks CA :)
Hm… OK, I will do this simply instead of breaking it down into nuanced categories.
Pemmies: tan/red & white, sable, redhead tricolor, blackhead tricolor
Cardis: tan/red & white, tricolor, brindle, blue merle
Cardigans come in so many shades of colors mentioned above. They are far more diverse in color combinations than Pemmies.
I am unsure if Cardis can come in a redhead tricolor or a sable (can’t recall seeing one off the top of my head). Though I am told that Cardigans comes in every shade that Pemmies come in. Cardi lovers what say yee?
